The 2010 Melt-A-Weigh Challenge will begin January 11 and run through April 3. Sign-up is held now through January 9. Group meeting is Wednesday, January 6th, at 6:30pm at The Source Training studio.
The cost is $300 for the 12-weeks. The winner will receive $300! Second place will receive $100, and third place will win $50.

Call 262-945-4698 or email bwiesztort@wi.rr.com for further details and to register.

This is an annual 12-week weight-loss challenge starting the first week in January. The Challenge will consist of regular supervised and un-supervised exercise sessions. Food logs are submitted on a daily basis to help ensure adherence to the program. There is a weekly informational/support meeting, that will also include a mandatory weekly weigh-in. During these meetings, information about exercise, eating-food, how the body works in relation to these factors and general moral support will be the focus.

Program rules and guidelines are reviewed one week before Challenge begins. Strict adherence to set plan is required, otherwise the contestant will be eliminated from the Challenge. Elimination from the Challenge is subjective to The Source of Training staff member’s opinion of contestant’s drive, motivation, and participation in Challenge.

Winner will be the contestant who loses the most body fat without sacrificing muscle mass. Optimal winner will be one who loses body fat and gains muscle mass. Any muscle mass loss at end of competition will be subtracted from body fat loss.

The Source offers a variety of different services such as one-on-one personal training, weight loss programs, circuit training classes and even a calisthenics boot camp held on Saturday mornings on Simmons Island. Ms. Wiesztort has a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology from Indiana State University, is certified by the American Council on Exercise (A.C.E.), and won the 1996 Miss Midwest Natural Body Building competition. Ms. Wiesztort explained that the “natural” stands for no performance enhancing chemicals are allowed in that competition. There are at least twelve different trophies in her studio from events she has competed in.

Ms. Wiesztort, a native of Kenosha, was attracted to the health and fitness field where she worked as a cardiac rehab specialist at the Kenosha Hospital & MedicalCenter. She found that she loved personal
training and helping people with their personal goals. In 2003, she had the opportunity to open her studio and chose the BID area due to it’s proximity to the lakefront. Ms. Wiesztort sometimes incorporates the
lakefront into her classes and likes the fact that she and some of her clients can take walks or bike rides along the lake.

In addition to one-on-one training, The Source offers personalized training in small groups in the form of circuit training customized by Ms. Wiesztort. These classes offer cardiovascular, free weights, and even some boxing in which you can spar with Ms. Wiesztort for a 90 second session.
I tried it myself and it was great exercise as well as fun! The Source has other trainers who specialize in athletic and strength training. The Source also offers in-home personalized training.

Ms. Wiesztort loves the feel of the BID area, and is happy she chose this location versus a more industrialized environment. When Briana started her business in 2003, she did not have a lot of competition, but even with increased competition her client list has grown. She attributes this growth to the large number of referrals she receives from happy clients.
